Youth Science-At-Sea Programs
We believe that learning by doing is one of the keys to success in science and conservation. Throughout the year, ANGARI Foundation partners with marine scientists to bring students out on the water aboard R/V ANGARI for scientific research expeditions. Students learn the methods being applied by marine scientists in the field first-hand and engage with their natural surroundings in ways that would not otherwise be possible from a classroom. These at-sea experiences are designed to heighten student STEM knowledge, research experience, confidence, and appreciation for the ocean and its inhabitants, while also providing exposure to a variety of career possibilities within the ocean sciences.
360 Video & Virtual Reality
Experience the ocean through 360 film and virtual reality. Join scientists on a research expedition aboard R/V ANGARI from the comfort of your classroom or home. Learn about the marine environment and what it takes to study it. Our Generation Ocean 360 film series is produced with education, engagement, and entertainment in mind. ANGARI Foundation has developed and curated educational activities and content to accompany the Generation Ocean series. These materials are available via our Educator Resources Portal – please register as an educator to access these resources and receive periodic updates.
Educator Professional Development
We feel that effectively educating today’s youth starts with their teachers. Our marine and environmental science opportunities for educators include programs both on land and at sea, and enable participants to engage and work directly with professional scientists who are experts in their fields. Participating teachers gain hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of relevant research and data collection and walk away with new experiences to share with their students. They also receive resources and lesson ideas to enhance their STEM curriculum and student engagement.
Please register as an educator with us to be the first to learn of upcoming opportunities!
Outreach & Engagement
Throughout the year, ANGARI Foundation participates in and exhibits at a number of professional conferences and public outreach events for audiences of all ages. These events allow us to showcase our passion and programs amongst colleagues and the public, while both supporting and encouraging engagement in marine science and conservation.
