Alexa Elliott is the creator of Changing Seas, a marine science series broadcast on PBS stations nationwide. On the air for nearly 20 years, episodes have focused on a variety of topics, ranging from American Samoa’s resilient coral reefs to cutting-edge experiments conducted at the world’s northernmost research station during the polar night. A Fellow of the Explorer’s Club with two degrees in broadcast journalism, Alexa has received numerous awards for her work, including the prestigious Communication Award presented by the National Academy of Sciences, twelve Emmy awards, and others. Alexa earned two degrees in Broadcast Journalism – a Bachelor of Arts from Morehead State University and a Master of Arts from the University of Florida.
Ocean Expert Exchange is a live educational webinar series featuring experts in marine science and technology, many of whom have participated in expeditions onboard R/V ANGARI. The 30-minute live events welcome audiences of all ages and include a presentation on the speaker’s area of expertise followed by Q&A with participants. The series is co-hosted by ANGARI Foundation and the University of Florida Thompson Earth Systems Institute’s Scientist in Every Florida School program.
