ANGARI Foundation Named Environmental Steward of the Year by Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County
West Palm Beach, Florida (January 25, 2024) ─ ANGARI Foundation is honored to be awarded Environmental Steward of the Year by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, Inc. (MIAPBC). ANGARI’s co-founder and president, Angela Rosenberg, accepted the award at the MIAPBC’s Annual Member Awards ceremony on Tuesday, January 23, at Loggerhead Marinelife Center.
The MIAPBC Annual Member Awards recognizes individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the marine community. MIAPBC designated Rosenberg as this year’s environmental steward because of her successful environmental and educational outreach with ANGARI Foundation.
This achievement comes on the heels of Rosenberg’s extraordinary work ethic since founding ANGARI in 2016. Her combined love for the ocean, marine science, and boating led to the establishment of the nonprofit, which has become a community resource for marine science research and STEM education in Palm Beach County.
“We’re honored to be recognized by the MIAPBC. It’s surreal to see our vision come to life during this nonprofit journey,” said Rosenberg. “The maritime industry has been a part of ANGARI’s success from the beginning, initially providing support and services when we acquired and refitted our research vessel. We’re fortunate to be able to work with various organizations, and MIAPBC has been an outstanding partner in helping us grow our programs and increase our impact.”
Since its founding, ANGARI Foundation has reached more than 20,000 people through community events, conferences, and film. The Foundation has also welcomed nearly 1,000 scientists, educators, and students aboard its research vessel, R/V ANGARI, for scientific and educational expeditions. Additionally, ANGARI has hosted more than 50 filmmakers and media personnel on oceanic journeys to convey scientific research, showcase the marvels of the ocean to the public, and engage with a worldwide audience.
A member of MIAPBC since 2021, ANGARI Foundation could not have achieved its environmental and educational impact without the association’s support!
