PRESENTER BIO
Mike Lloret has been with Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) for the last 7 years. He is currently the wildlife biologist/Senior Environmental specialist at the Turkey Point Clean Energy Center in Florida City, Florida. Mike is responsible for monitoring the Crocodile Management Program, Invasive Species Management Program, and all other wildlife needs at Turkey Point. Growing up in Miami, Florida, Mike was immersed in South Florida wildlife early — allowing him to gain invaluable experience in the field. His passion for wildlife conservation guided him to accumulate the expertise necessary to fulfill his position today. Mike’s areas of interest include but are not limited to conservation and ecology of herpetofauna, invasive species research and management, animal husbandry, habitat creation and environmental outreach/education.
Ocean Expert Exchange is a live educational webinar series featuring experts in marine science and technology, many of whom have participated in expeditions onboard R/V ANGARI. The 30-minute live events welcome audiences of all ages and include a presentation on the speaker’s area of expertise followed by Q&A with participants. The series is co-hosted by ANGARI Foundation and the University of Florida Thompson Earth Systems Institute’s Scientist in Every Florida School program.
