ANGARI Foundation Receives $25,000 Grant to Expand Educational Shark Expedition Program in South Florida
West Palm Beach, Florida (February 10, 2025) ─ ANGARI Foundation has been awarded $25,000 for a second consecutive year by the Palm Beach International Boat Show Gives Back grant program to support and expand its educational Coastal Ocean Explorers: Sharks (COE: Sharks) program. The grant will fund three COE: Sharks expeditions for Title 1 students in the fall, and a summer expedition for marine science educators during the Lake Worth Lagoon Educator Workshop. The goal is to boost educator engagement, expand knowledge of the local marine environment, and extend the program to more schools across South Florida.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this vital funding that will allow us to inspire and equip the next generation of marine scientists,” said Angela Rosenberg, president of ANGARI Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of the Palm Beach International Boat Show Gives Back grant program, we can further our mission to educate, explore, and safeguard our oceans for the future.”
Since its founding, ANGARI Foundation has reached more than 55,000 people through community events, conferences, and film. Coastal Ocean Explorers: Sharks (COE: Sharks), the Foundation’s flagship education program, immerses students in shark science through both classroom learning and expeditions onboard R/V ANGARI, its 65-foot research vessel. These experiences equip participants with STEM knowledge and hands-on experiences related to at-sea operations, marine industry careers, the nature and practice of science, research tools and techniques, data collection, and more.
