ANGARI Foundation’s Virtual Annual Celebration a Success

West Palm Beach, Florida (April 12, 2021) – ANGARI Foundation’s Annual Celebration brings together all of its partners, supporters, donors & other like-minded individuals to join in celebrating ANGARI’s successes and learn about our upcoming endeavors. The event is typically held at a waterfront venue with the Foundation’s research vessel, R/V ANGARI, docked on site and open for tours throughout the evening. This year the event was held virtually to allow the Foundation to engage with a large audience while ensuring safe social distancing. Guests were able to tune in from around the world to share in the celebration.

Hosted by ANGARI co-founders Angela and Kari Rosenberg, the event began with a fun opening sketch and welcome, which set the tone for the evening. During the first part of the hour-long celebration, the hosts introduced staff members, welcomed guests onboard R/V ANGARI with a video tour and took attendees on a marine science journey through The Bahamas and Florida. Following the research stories, scientists vying for a free day onboard R/V ANGARI were introduced. Pitting Team Shark versus Team Coral, both presented their arguments for why their research was more impactful and deserving, including some humorous jabs throughout, and the audience was asked to vote for their selection.

The evening celebrated the success of the Foundation and its partners, highlighting an impressive variety of successful research projects and STEM education programs. ANGARI Foundation’s distance learning initiatives were also commended, and the Foundation’s award-winning 360 film “Generation Ocean: Sharks” received a well-earned shout out.

While viewers could not interact within the livestream itself, there were plenty of ways for the audience to participate leading up to, during and after the event. Guests were asked to submit their own watch party photos as part of a virtual photo booth, and many guests received gift boxes prior to the celebration to enhance their event experiences. ANGARI Foundation also hosted an online auction to help raise funds for its marine science research and education mission.

This year’s ANGARI Foundation Annual Celebration would not have been possible without several sponsors, including the Silver Sponsor, Sentient Jet, the Bronze Sponsor, Wells Fargo Advisors, event sponsors Worth Avenue Yachts, IJL Real Estate Group, Gunster Law Firm and Braman Motorcars, and media sponsors Coastal Angler Magazine, ECO Magazine and South Florida Luxury Guide.

The recorded celebration is available for viewing on ANGARI Foundation’s YouTube Channel. The Team Shark versus Team Coral competition ended on April 16, 2021 when Team Coral took the lead and won the free day onboard R/V ANGARI.
