ANGARI Foundation Welcomes New Director of Media & Marketing

R. Michael Brown brings media, marketing, and public relations experience at major businesses and nonprofits to ocean research and education nonprofit.

West Palm Beach, FL (August 24, 2020) – ANGARI Foundation is pleased to announce that R. Michael Brown has joined the organization as Director of Media and Marketing.

Brown was most recently the Director of Operations and Marketing for Junior Achievement and before that the Director of Communications for the prestigious Town of Palm Beach Civic Association where he founded and led the news operation for the popular “This Week in Palm Beach” e-news and newscast. Brown has geotechnical, media and marketing experience in multiple industries, including Ardaman and Associates, DiVosta and Pulte Homes, Motorola and IBM.

“We’re excited to have Mike onboard,” said Angela Rosenberg, president of ANGARI Foundation. “He pioneered multimedia at IBM, is a proven hands-on leader in launching and marketing products and services, and he’s written and produced news and digital multimedia around the world for industry networks, the World Wildlife Fund and Discovery Channel. He adds a fresh new dimension to an already strong team at ANGARI.”

“In many ways I’m returning to my roots by joining ANGARI,” said Brown. “I studied marine sciences and ocean engineering along with journalism because I wanted to be a science and technology journalist. I did that and was picked up for corporate communications by Bertram Yacht and tech companies. Now I’m back at the ocean, which is my first love, and plan to work with our awesome team to produce great content for ANGARI – news and features that are important for the public to know.”

Brown earned a BA in Journalism from Florida Atlantic University and an MA in Communication with an emphasis on Broadcasting, Marketing and Public Relations from Barry University in Miami. He is the recipient of a NY Film Festival Award for his IBM multimedia production “Introducing Ultimedia” that showed the world what the web would be like when it went live. He has also received many American Advertising Awards (ADDYs).
